June 15 Activity Recap: 3 Chapter Meetups, 11 New Applicator Badges Awarded

What a day for the PolyOrgs network! Across three regional chapters — Gulf Coast, Midwest, and Pacific Northwest — members came together for hands-on spray demonstrations, safety reviews, and certification ceremonies. A total of 11 applicators received their updated badges after completing the new 2026 competency modules.

Gulf Coast Chapter — Houston Hub

Hosted at a local industrial facility, the Gulf Coast meetup drew 34 attendees including 6 first-timers. The session focused on surface preparation for concrete substrates, a topic that generated lively Q&A thanks to several members dealing with challenging coastal-humidity conditions. Chapter lead Marcus Webb presented updated data on moisture tolerance thresholds in polyurea systems, which you can explore further in our Technical Articles section.

“We had applicators flying in from three different states,” said Webb. “That kind of commitment tells you everything about where this industry is heading.”

Midwest Chapter — Columbus, OH

The Columbus group tackled a crowd favorite: containment mat certification. With demand from the oil and gas sector continuing to grow, 9 attendees completed the Level 2 containment endorsement. Check our Certification & Training page for the full requirements list.

Pacific Northwest Chapter — Portland, OR

The smallest but arguably most technically intense session of the day. Six experienced applicators gathered for a deep-dive into hybrid polyurea-polyurethane systems — particularly for cold-weather roofing applications. If you’re in this market, our blog archive has several relevant write-ups you shouldn’t miss.
